Auctions America to offer the auction of California from August 1-3 in Burbank, California, a rare collection of cars and motorcycles. Among all of the collection to 1984 Ferrari Testarossa Spider appeared in a Michael Jackson Pepsi a 1957 Mercedes 300SL owned by actor Robert Stack, 1951 Mercury Custom Convertible driven by David Lee Roth California girls in the video. The highlight of the auction will be owned 1,946 Indian chief himself King of Cool, Steve McQueen.
Indian motorcycles were manufactured from 1901 to 1953 by a company in Springfield, Massachusetts, USA, initially known as the Hendee Manufacturing Company name, but it was renamed Indian Motocycle Manufacturing Company in 1928. The Indian factory team took the first three places in the 1911 Isle of Man Tourist Trophy. During the 1910s Indian became the largest manufacturer of motorcycles in the world. The most popular models were the Scout India in 1920-1946, and leader, 1922-1953.
Interestingly, this engine is the first bike that Steve McQueen never had. In 1971, McQueen was interviewed and featured in Sports Illustrated story that took place right after the purchase of the bike: "I was so proud of this Indian went to see a girl I was dating." Recalled "She said "Do not think I'm with you on that, right? "Certainly I did. The girl went to get the bike was."
